After looking at various types of milk packaging, I decided to draw an example of 'Milk Boy' using a particular style of carton. I chose the smallest type with the straw to add that 'child' like element to the character. Making him petite and 'cuter' in appeal, as I believe making him larger would give him more adult like qualities.
Based around the influences research in previous posts, I add a simplistic express to the design and some basic colour. Here are the outcomes:
These colour examples show the different types of milk that you can purchase in stores. We have here, Whole Milk, Semi Skimmed and Skimmed. Although I admire all the colour varients, I think with the Green milk (Semi skimmed) being the most popular of milk purchases, seemed ideal to make Milk boy this colour.
I really liked this style of carton as It does represent Milk boy in an iconic way. He has a friendly and 'adorable' aesthetic appeal. Shorts arms and legs, simplistic expressions and bold colours really fit the Milk boy role. However, it doesn't feel like I could make him look 'brave' when he becomes stronger throughout the interactive narrative. I believe I need to make him look a little more capable and less fragile.
